You\u2019ve forgotten our own thug, Darren White, saying \u201clet me at them\u201d about citizens speaking out against a war we never should have entered. You\u2019ve forgotten our police gassing those protestors.<\/p>\n<p><strong><font style=\"background-color: #ff0000\">Is this acceptable to you?<\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2011\/11\/20\/opinion\/sunday\/at-occupy-berkeley-beat-poets-has-new-meaning.html?_r=1&amp;pagewanted=all?src=tp\">At Occupy Berkeley, Beat Poets Has New Meaning &#8211; NYTimes.com<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>at that moment the deputies in the cordon surged forward and, using their clubs as battering rams, began to hammer at the bodies of the line of students. It was stunning to see. They swung hard into their chests and bellies. Particularly shocking to me \u2014 it must be a generational reaction \u2014 was that they assaulted both the young men and the young women with the same indiscriminate force. If the students turned away, they pounded their ribs. If they turned further away to escape, they hit them on their spines. \u2026<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday afternoon when I returned toward sundown to the steps to see how the students had responded, the air was full of balloons, <a href=\"http:\/\/abclocal.go.com\/kgo\/story?section=news\/local\/east_bay&amp;id=8435331\">helium balloons<\/a> to which tents had been attached, and attached to the tents was kite string.
