South Valley resident Lisa Murphy had told the president she had three \u2018hot-topic\u2019 questions for him, including \u201cWhy are you a Christian?\u201d \u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a Christian by choice,\u201d the president answered. \u201cMy family didn\u2019t \u2014 frankly, they weren\u2019t folks who went to church every week. And my mother was one of the most spiritual people I knew, but she didn\u2019t raise me in the church. So I came to my Christian faith later in life.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

On one local news show, the reporter said, \u201cObama was asked why he chose<\/strong> Christianity.\u201d That is not correct reporting and it subtly alters the impact of the question and answer.<\/p>\n
