{"id":3250,"date":"2010-06-10T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-06-10T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.edgewiseblog.com\/mjh\/status-updates\/status-updates\/"},"modified":"2010-06-10T10:02:50","modified_gmt":"2010-06-10T16:02:50","slug":"status-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edgewiseblog.com\/mjh\/edgewiseblog\/status-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"Status Updates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Social networking sites, such as Myspace, Twitter, and Facebook, let you use short messages to update your friends on what you\u2019re doing, your mood, etc. Yes, a status update may say more than anyone cares to know, yet these short \u201cHello World!\u201d messages do remind everyone you\u2019re still alive.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors to my three blogs may notice \u2013 or not \u2013 that I\u2019ve incorporated status updates into the header of each blog. (On most blogs, the <em>tagline<\/em> rarely changes.)&#160; The two of you who use RSS to subscribe to my blogs will still, er, get the benefit of these updates, which are like any other posting, only briefer. (Huzzah!)<\/p>\n<p>I expect to update my status no more than once a day and as little as once a week on each blog. If you want to see all status updates for one blog, there\u2019s <a href=\"\/mjh\/category\/status-updates\/\">a link for that<\/a>. To see all updates and entries for all blogs \u2013 you glutton, you \u2013 there\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/reader\/bundle\/user%2F15203041857269700351%2Fbundle%2Fall%20Mark%20considered\">a link for that<\/a>, too.<\/p>\n<p>I do miss the interaction in Facebook, where a status update often elicits a response from more than one friend. Out here in the wilderness, these updates may only be greeted by the sound of tumbleweeds blowing and coyotes ululating.
