Just a month ago, I contemplated using time travel to go back to stop myself from watching Primer. Now, Primer has made someone\u2019s Top Ten list. Mind you, I think Primer deserves an A- in Film School. It wasn\u2019t awful, it just really fizzled out and I can\u2019t recommend it.<\/p>\n<p>Had I known this Top Ten List would include The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I might have been better prepared for shock and disappointment. TESOTSM is just gawd-awful. I would watch Primer every day if I thought that would erase my memory of TESOTSM.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, I didn\u2019t know what was on this \u201clist\u201d because the Web site doesn\u2019t actually list these movies. That there is no list with links to these 10 items is an anti-Web, slimy way of forcing people to slog through pages. It says Techland\u2019s advertisers matter more than its readers. So, here\u2019s the list:<\/p>\n<p>10. <a href=\"http:\/\/techland.com\/10-28-days-later\/\">28 Days Later<\/a>     <br \/>9. <a href=\"http:\/\/techland.com\/9-minority-report\/\">Minority Report<\/a>     <br \/>8. <a href=\"http:\/\/techland.com\/8-star-trek\/\">Star Trek<\/a>     <br \/>7. <a href=\"http:\/\/techland.com\/7-wall-e\/\">WALL-E<\/a>     <br \/>6. <a href=\"http:\/\/techland.com\/6-children-of-men\/\">Children of Men<\/a> (very violent; Michael Caine is wonderful, but his end is not)     <br \/>5. <a href=\"http:\/\/techland.com\/5-primer\/\">Primer<\/a>     <br \/>4. <a href=\"http:\/\/techland.com\/4-the-fountain\/\">The Fountain<\/a>     <br \/>3. <a href=\"http:\/\/techland.com\/3-solaris\/\">Solaris<\/a>     <br \/>2. <a href=\"http:\/\/techland.com\/2-eternal-sunshine-of-the-spotless-mind\/\">Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind<\/a>     <br \/>1. <a href=\"http:\/\/techland.com\/1-artificial-intelligence\/\">A.I.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>With AI topping this list, we know Steven James Snyder has an amazing tolerance for ponderous story-telling. That\u2019s a vital quality for a film reviewer. I\u2019m assuming he\u2019ll love Avatar, leaving me quite doubtful about it.<\/p>\n<p>FWIW \u2013 not much \u2013 of these selections, I rank WALL-E #1 and Minority Report #2 (that one grew on me with repetition \u2013 it thoroughly documents a Gibson-esque dystopia \u2013 up there with Blade Runner).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OMG.
