He told the crowd he didn\u2019t believe they were all \u201cright-wing extremists,\u201d as others had sought to portray them. \u201cBut if you are, I\u2019m with you!\u201d he shouted. After, he told reporters that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/sharedcontent\/dws\/dn\/latestnews\/stories\/041509dnmetteaparties.d8880855.html\">Texas might have to secede<\/a> from the union \u2026.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a title=\"Think Progress \u00bb Gov. Rick Perry: Texas might have to secede.<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Tea party <a href=\"http:\/\/facethestate.com\/buzz\/15437-denver-tea-party-planner-makes-appearance-fox-news\">organizers<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/2009\/04\/15\/tea-party-dc\/\">participants<\/a> have repeatedly insisted that their nationwide protests today are completely non-partisan and not meant to be anti-Obama. However, there didn\u2019t seem to be any anti-Republican or anti-Bush signs at the protests. Instead, not only were there signs\/clothing protest Obama\u2019s policies, but some had violent or racist rhetoric.
