Times baselessly claims \u2018military\u2019 fears Obama.<\/h4>\n<p>The Washington Times ran a <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtontimes.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=\/20080226\/NATION\/476716884\/1001\">front page article<\/a> today headlined \u201cMilitary fears \u2018unknown quantity,\u2019\u201d attacking Sen. Barack Obama\u2019s (D-IL) \u201ccommander-in-chief qualifications.\u201d The Times\u2019s only sources for those in the \u201cmilitary\u201d who fear Obama, however, include a \u201cretired Air Force Lieutenant General who <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkingpointsmemo.com\/horsesmouth\/2008\/02\/john_solomons_w.php\">doubles as a Fox News analyst<\/a>,\u201d a unnamed \u201csenior Pentagon official,\u201d and a defense \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/mediamatters.org\/items\/200802260001?f=h_latest\">industry executive<\/a>\u201c:  <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very concerned about his apparent lack of understanding on the threat of radical Islam to the United States,\u201d said <strong>retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney, who is pro-Iraq war and a Fox News analyst<\/strong>. \u201cA lot of retired senior officers feel the same way.\u201d[\u2026]  <\/p>\n<p><strong>A senior Pentagon official <\/strong>said an Obama swearing-in \u201cwill give the Arab street the final victory, the best optics, and the ultimate in bragging rights. They win. We lose.\u201d [\u2026]  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve got some trepidation.
