I like the idea of cameras catching speeders. Albuquerque tried them a decade ago but the lawless bastards got them taken down. Now, they are back but it’s not just lawbreakers being recorded — everyone is.
A recent article noted a new “speeding” camera near my home. What wasn’t noted is that it joins countless other cameras that I pass repeated throughout the week. Along with every other vehicle, my truck is in a ballooning database tracking all of my *innocent* movements. It’s not just “public safety.” This is Big Brother on the street.
