Democracy for New Mexico: Leaders from Small Communities Around New Mexico Endorse Diane Denish

Diane Denish knows the state and the state government. The Republican lust for inexperience and mad faith in outsiders – people like DUHbya – works with their view that government can do no good: True, if you keep electing Republicans.

Democracy for New Mexico: Leaders from Small Communities Around New Mexico Endorse Diane Denish

Nearly 100 local community leaders at the city, town and county level from around New Mexico have endorsed Diane Denish for governor. Why? Obviously because they have faith in Diane’s understanding of New Mexico’s diverse communities, the needs of folks who live, work and own small businesses around the state and her proven abilities to bring people together in collaboration to get problems solved with practical, common-sense solutions.

"I am honored to have received so much support from around the state," Denish said in a statement. "People in smaller communities want a governor who is on their side — someone who understands the needs of rural New Mexico and will fight for small towns every day. While Susana Martinez has been traveling the country attending fancy events with the rich and powerful in New York and Texas, I have had my feet firmly planted in New Mexico."

The shocking fact is that in the final weeks of the campaign, Martinez has been hiding from New Mexicans — going more than a week without a single public appearance in the state!

  1. From State Senator Dede Feldman’s blog:
    “My 2010 Election Picks”

“First, Diane Denish. The stakes are too high in the Gov’s race to risk someone without experience or the ability to navigate through perilous waters. As a State Senator, I have seen Diane at work, presiding over the Senate, creating a Children’s Cabinet, fighting for early childhood education, and fostering public-private partnerships to tackle some of New Mexico’s worst problems- poverty, the lack of economic opportunity and access to health care.

I am especially proud to have worked with Diane to expand access to quality health care in our state. Together, we fought to expand coverage to every child in New Mexico, make it easier for small businesses to provide coverage for their employees and to allow adult children in their 20s to stay on their parents policies. And all this– before the new federal health care bill.

Diane is tenacious and trustworthy. During the session, she displays a kind of “grace under fire”– no matter whether the fire comes from payday lenders, the opponents of her many ethics proposals, or even the Governor himself. She knows how to fight for working families and small businesses, and she sticks to her guns.”
