On the west side of the Rio Grande. Seen from the east side, hiking the Aldo Leopold trail in Albuquerque, NM. Great trail from the Rio Grande Nature Center almost to Montaño Bridge. The first part of the trail is paved; most is sandy soil, running close to the river.

This wren has been in our yard for up to a couple of months, but I don't recall another before that in 20 years. Its tail is sometimes bent almost 90 degrees to the body.
Poor little one banged against the front window pretty hard. Sat like this for 20 minutes.
A rare visit for us. More common in the foothills, we hear.
